  1. I always enjoyed those stories narrated by the piece of kryptonite. They were always a good change-of-pace, and certainly this story, with the red kryptonite transformation of Superman created some suspense, and the change to gold kryptonite at the end of the story sets up the next story in the series very well, with real danger for Superman. I always thought that Superman was more afraid of gold kryptonite than he was of green kryptonite, as if losing his powers and becoming an ordinary man was a fate worse than the death of green kryptonite poisoning. I wonder what that says about his real opinion of ordinary humans.
"When Jimmy Olsen Stole Krypto from Superman" presented poor Krypto with a terrible dilemma. Dogs are well-known for their loyalty, and Krypto ought to be SUPER-loyal, but Jimmy really hounds the Dog of Steel to force him to switch loyalty. That behavior should have been some kind of clue, since Jimmy, as Superman's loyal pal (almost, but not quite, as loyal as Pete Ross), he should understand and not try to undermine Krypto's loyalty. Bad Jimmy! Bad!

    1. I remember at the end of “Whatever Happened To The Man Of Tomorrow”, when we learn that Lois’ husband is the now powerless Superman, he says basically that he originally thought the world couldn’t survive without him but learned that it could. About Super-Jimmy, well said.
