Action Comics 294!

Download Episode 291 Part II!

ACTION COMICS 294, November 1962, was published on September 27, 1962 (the date of my 2nd birthday). It contained 32 pages for the cover price of 12¢. Mort Weisinger was the editor, and the cover was pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein.

- The Superman story in this issue was titled, THE KRYPTONITE KILLER (14 pgs.), was written by Edmond Hamilton and drawn by Al Plastino, and was reprinted in SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERMAN vol. IV. This story continued the tale begun in ACTION COMICS 292 (covered in Episode 286, for the week of October 30, 2013).

- The Supergirl story in this issue was titled, THE MUTINY OF SUPER-HORSE (11 pgs.), written by Leo Dorfman and drawn by Jim Mooney. This story has been reprinted in  SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERGIRL vol. II.

Also covered in this episode are the ads and other features in this issue, including the letter column METROPOLIS MAILBAG.

Elsewhere in DC Comics, 29 titles carried the November or November/December 1962 cover date, thanks to Mike's Amazing World Of Comics.

I also give a brief review of the comic book history title, Marvel Comics: The Untold Story. I have begun reading Super Boys, about the Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and will review this book in a future episode.
