This first regular episode of 2014 features SUPERMAN 157, November 1962, which was published around September 20, 1962. It contained 32 pages for the cover price of 12¢. Mort Weisinger was the editor, and the cover was pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein, featuring the issue's first story. All three stories have been reprinted in, SHOWCASE PRESENTS: SUPERMAN vol. IV.

- THE SUPER-REVENGE OF THE PHANTOM ZONE PRISONER (10 pgs.), was written by Edmond Hamilton, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein. This story was also reprinted in SUPERMAN: TALES FROM THE PHANTOM ZONE.

- THE SUPER-GENIE OF METROPOLIS (7 pgs.), was written by Robert Bernstein and drawn by Al Plastino.

- SUPERMAN'S DAY OF DOOM was written by Jerry Siegel, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein. This was Siegel's 43rd silver age Superman story, and his 133rd story for the era to this point. Previously, he wrote:

- 2 stories for ADVENTURE COMICS 299, cover dated August 1962:

   - The Superboy story, THE UNWANTED SUPER-BABY, drawn by George Papp.

   - The Bizarro story: CAR 45, GET LOST, pencilled by George Klein and inked by George Klein.

- 3 stories for the cover date of September 1962:

   - THE KRYPTONITE KID in SUPERBOY 99, drawn by George Papp.

   - THE LEAGUE OF FANTASTIC SUPERMEN for SUPERMAN'S PAL JIMMY OLSEN 63, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein.

   - THE FACE BEHIND THE LEAD MASK in ADVENTURE COMICS 300, drawn by John forte and Al Plastino. (No, this story is not about Legion of Super-Heroes member Ferro Lad.)

- 2 stories cover dated October 1962:

   - MA & PA KENT'S INCREDIBLE DELUSION for SUPERBOY 100, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein.

   - THE SECRET ORIGIN OF BOUNCING BOY in ADVENTURE COMICS 301, drawn by John Forte.
