  1. While "Luthor's First Victory Over Superman" was the weakest of this story line, I think I enjoyed it a bit more than you did. It was good to see that, even though he was psychologically vulnerable to Luthor's scheme, Superman still worked through it and found out what Luthor and Brainiac were up to, and managed to defeat them, while still doing a good deed for Ardora. Now, while in light of adult sensibilities, as you noted, it may not really have been a good deed, it probably was to the kids reading the story at the time, and it was clearly Superman's intention, so I'm giving him credit for that. Of course, even Luthor says that it squares him and Superman . . . for now, so we know the battle will continue at some time in the future.
"The Prize of Peril" was a very good Supergirl story, and I'm looking forward to the next part of the story. I'm hoping that Supergirl not only recovers her own good looks, but finds a way to help Jak-Thal recover his own looks, although I'm sure he'll have to face the consequences of his own evil actions.

    1. It was amazing that Superman was finally able to out-think Luthor and Brainiac despite the mental stress he was under.
