  1. It's great to hear your voice in my earbuds again! Thank you! As a boy, I always enjoyed these "3-Part Novels", as they were called --- basically an issue-length story, which felt special, somehow.
Part I of this one was interesting, with both Superman and Lois acting somewhat out-of-character, and it quickly became clear that Superman was running for office as part of some secret plan of his. As you noted, the title of Part II pretty much gave away that plan, at least in part, since it was obvious that Mr. Mxyzptlk was involved, so Superman was probably trying to foil him, somehow. When we get the final explanation in Part III, it seems rather mean of Superman to involve Lois in his plan without actually telling her. If he had, maybe the two of them, working together could have sent him back to the 5th Dimension sooner, and Lois wouldn't have gotten her hopes up, only to be publicly humiliated on the front page of the Daily Planet, exposed as someone running for an office she didn't even know she wasn't qualified for! Of course, the Daily Planet doesn't cover itself in roses here, either, since I'd think they'd have noted that little problem as soon as Superman and Lois started running for office.
I know that some states attach qualifications for Senate beyond the ones in the Constitution, the most common ones being that they must be registered members of a political party, or at least registered voters. I've never heard of a state requiring a Senator to be born in that state, but I guess whatever state Metropolis is in has such a requirement, especially considering that it's on Earth-1, not our own Earth.
Again, thanks for bringing the podcast back to your audience.
