I really enjoyed your coverage of this issue! I have vivid memories of this cover, and the cover of the next issue of Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane from when I was 10 years old (over a half-century ago)! The idea of a romance between Lois and Lex was an intriguing one, especially with Lois first as an admirer, then, later, an active accomplice of Lexo and his criminal endeavors. I like the idea of Lexo as a Robin Hood type, giving his loot to those in need. I fits with my long-held view of Lex as having a good side and a code of honor. I'm looking forward to your coverage of the conclusion in the next issue.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the conclusion of the S.K.U.L. story, and the explanation of Van Benson's undercocer role with the FBI, and the FBI's plan to develop strategies for dealing with super-criminal organizations should Superman be unavailable to help, including, I'd hope, if he should become de-powered, or off-planet for some time, and not just in the event of his death. I'd hate for the FBI to be like the Gotham City Police Department on the 1960s "Batman" TV show --- apparently unable to combat crime without Batman's help.
I agree about the GCPD of the Batman TV show. I'm really looking forward to reading how Lois' relationship with Lex Luthor is going to end. As I said, I don't think it's going to end well for her, but I;m looking forward to seeing how the story plays out.
