Lois had forced Robin to drink a super power serum, invented by Superman, that she knew was in the Batcave. Thanks for calling attention to that particular missing plot point, and for enjoying the podcast, from one child of the Silver Age to another.Billy Hoganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947341415379828897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894516466954796030.post-82959565842138289002015-06-22T10:24:07.679-04:002015-06-22T10:24:07.679-04:00An excellent episode, indeed! I remember very fondly those 80 Page Giants from my boyhood. I don't think I knew that there was any difference between an "Annual" and an "80 Page Giant", but I always enjoyed getting so many stories for just a bit more than the cost of two regular comics. I loved that there was usually a "theme" to the stories, and I loved that I got to read stories that were often from before I'd begun reading comics.<br />I have a question for you from one story, and a comment on another. First, the question: In "The Amazing Superman Jr." was there an explanation in the story for how Robin was able to duplicate Superman's powers? Second, the comment: You noted that the title of the Mxyzptlk story had been changed from "The Ghost of Jor-El" to "Mxyzptlk's First Prank", and you said you weren't sure why the title had been changed. I'd bet that, because the theme of this Annual was "Untold Stories and Secret Origins", the story title was changed to reflect that it was an origin story for Mr. Mxyzptlk, as noted on the issue's cover. Thanks again for this episode and for your ongoing gift of The Superman Fan Podcast. As a child of the Silver Age, myself, it's like revisiting my boyhood, and that's priceless.Halk-Karhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06086839075464653445noreply@blogger.com
