Looking forward to the change in World's Finest as well.

Interestingly, despite being the editor of record, it seems like it wasn't actually Jack Schiff's fault that the monster of the week formula became the norm for Batman/World's Finest. This forum thread has some interesting info on that: Whatever happened to Jack Schiff?Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13817042877733157997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894516466954796030.post-46340122055392739512016-01-15T18:58:38.770-05:002016-01-15T18:58:38.770-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13817042877733157997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894516466954796030.post-66248067457059766672016-01-13T16:05:15.034-05:002016-01-13T16:05:15.034-05:00Wow, that's dedication. I decided having so many "Superman Family" issues left over at the end of my coverage of Mort Weisinger's run as editor wasn't the way I wanted to end these silver age episodes. I don't mind going through these jack Schiff issues because doing them this way will mean I'll get through them quicker. My earliest "World's Finest" issues were the Mort Weisinger issues later in the decade, which I favor.Billy Hoganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947341415379828897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894516466954796030.post-24321199194489118422016-01-13T15:59:24.941-05:002016-01-13T15:59:24.941-05:00I'm glad you like the change. After plotting out the rest of the Mort Weisinger run of issues and seeing how much of the "Superman Family" issues would be left, it was an easy decision to make. The suggestion about changing the rating system was from another listener, named Brian, who also replied to this episode. Thanks for listening!Billy Hoganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947341415379828897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894516466954796030.post-49345417804489844882016-01-12T14:43:37.095-05:002016-01-12T14:43:37.095-05:00And I'm all caught up, so I can start commenti...And I'm all caught up, so I can start commenting in real time now. It took 8 months to blast through all of your Silver Age coverage to date; I'll have to get used to "only" having one new episode a week (or so) to listen to.

I'm glad to hear you're taking my suggestion to catch up the Superman Family coverage. Since the style of stories has been evolving somewhat in Superman/Action over time, it'll be a little jarring (for me, since I was listening chronologically instead of jumping back & forth) to return to an older style for awhile, but I think the cleaner continuity will be worth it in the end. I just don't envy you all of those crazy sci-fi World's Finest stories coming up, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13817042877733157997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3894516466954796030.post-10236115551098785172016-01-10T12:29:38.669-05:002016-01-10T12:29:38.669-05:00I think your plan to "catch up" the Supe...I think your plan to "catch up" the Superman Family"" titles with the "Superman" and "Action" is a good one, and will probably make some things easier to follow. If it does, in fact, take another seven years to cover the Silver Age, I hope to be there for all of them.
I cannot take credit for the suggestion that you change the rating scale you've used to this point, with 1 to 5 Superman Capes, and "High" and "Low" for each of those numbers. That was one of your other listeners (I'd have to go back and listen to your "comments" section of the podcasts to recall who it was, or maybe that person will contact you directly to claim his due recognition.).Halk-Karhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06086839075464653445noreply@blogger.com
