Episode #148: A Superman Fan Review: Superman: Secret Origin & Last Family Of Krypton!

Superman: Secret Origin 1, November 2009 & Superman: Last Family Of Krypton 1, October 2010!

Download Episode 148!

Recent episodes of this podcast have focused on older aspects of Superman history. So this week I thought it would be a good time to take a look at two recent mini-series, with the recent publication of the third and final issue of SUPERMAN: THE LAST FAMILY OF KRYPTON. This episode first looks at the six issue mini-series SUPERMAN: SECRET ORIGIN. The first issue was published during the last week of September, 2009. With various delays with the final three issues, the series did not conclude until the final issue was released during the last week of August of this year. THE LAST FAMILY OF KRYPTON had a more regular publication schedule, being released from August to the first week of October this year. It was the first ELSEWORLDS story published in about a decade.

While avoiding spoilers, I review both series and discuss how SECRET ORIGIN changes details of the Superman origin as depicted in THE MAN OF STEEL mini-series of 1986, and whether I think it's a good thing or not.
