My personal Superman legacy continues this episode with a look at some of the earliest Superman stories that I read. While they all might not literally be the earliest Superman stories I ever read, they are the ones that stand out in my memory of the Man Of Steel's stories from my childhood. All of them were edited by Mort Weisinger.

- SUPERMAN MEETS ROBIN THE BOY WONDER: ADVENTURE COMICS 253, October 1958, published around August 28, 1958. Written by Dave Wood, and drawn by Al Plastino. This story was reprinted in THE GREATEST TEAM-UP STORIES EVER TOLD and SUPERBOY: THE GREATEST TEAM-UP STORIES EVER TOLD.

- THE ARMY OF LIVING KRYPTONITE MEN from SUPERBOY 86, January 1961, published around November 17, 1960. The writer was Jerry Siegel and the artist George Papp. This story has been reprinted in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ARCHIVE vol. I, SUPERMAN VS. LEX LUTHOR and SHOWCASE PRESENTS: LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES vol. I.

- SUPERMAN 181, November 1965, published on September 16, 1965. The art for this issue was pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein. THE SUPER SCOOPS OF MONA VINE was written by Leo Dorfman and THE SUPERMAN OF 2965 was written by Edmond Hamilton.

- WORLD'S FINEST COMICS 155, February 1966, published on December 9, 1965. EXIT BATMAN, ENTER NIGHTMAN was written by Edmond Hamilton, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein. This story was reprinted in SHOWCASE PRESENTS: WORLD'S FINEST vol. III.

- WORLD'S FINEST COMICS 159, August 1966, published on June 9, 1966. THE CAPE AND COWL CROOKS was written by Edmond Hamilton, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein. This story has been reprinted in SUPERMAN / BATMAN: THE GREATEST STORIES EVER TOLD and SHOWCASE PRESENTS: WORLD'S FINEST vol. III.

- WORLD'S FINEST COMICS 172, December 1967, published on October 26, 1967. SUPERMAN AND BATMAN - BROTHERS was written by the teen aged Jim Shooter, pencilled by Curt Swan and inked by George Klein.
